At the Republican Convention the GOP Veep-in-waiting, Paul Ryan, said that each of us “was made for a reason, bearing the image and likeness of the Lord of Life.”
Congressman Ryan, you are welcome to your beliefs as long as you afford me the right to think differently. But please, keep your religion out of my government! Your religious beliefs have nothing to do with whether you would be an effective Vice President.
Ryan went on to say “our rights come from nature and God, not from government”. WRONG! I went to high school in England, where I was forced to read the Bible every day. Nowhere do I recall seeing any statement of my rights. Where in your holy book is my list of rights, Mr. Ryan?
Let this naturalized US citizen correct the would-be Vice President of the United States. The only rights we have as a human beings and Americans are those that our fellow citizens allow us to have. CONGRESSMAN Ryan, the Bill of Rights was passed by CONGRESS, a branch of (perish the thought) GOVERNMENT.
