This site has been evolving organically to focus on the piano and related musical topics. The site title and menus are changing accordingly.
To date, most music-related content is in the form of recital reviews. I have had so much positive feedback on these that I have decided to use reviews to anchor the site.
My goal now is to seek out complementary subject matter that is congruent with the site’s mission. Please email me at firstname.lastname@example.org with any suggestions.
My mission is to offer piano lovers a fresh, non-academic perspective on learning, repertoire, musicians and recitals.
I want to provide more social media exposure for up-and-coming pianists, putting them under the same gentle scrutiny that I give established pianists at major venues such as Carnegie Hall.
I want also to encourage adult piano students, and those who are thinking about taking up the piano. My own triumphs and tribulations as a pianist who started at age 63 may be of value to others attempting to do the same.
Before I started learning the piano, most of this site consisted of posts on current affairs. This and other material not related to the Site Mission will now be segregated on the menu. I may occasionally post more such content.
To enrich the site’s musical content, I am looking to interview people associated with the business of piano, e.g. vendors, promoters, sponsors and educators. In the 21st century I can talk to anyone in the world at no cost, so I can bring to this blog anyone who will talk to me.
Finally, I will continue to have fluid content boundaries so that I can e.g. blog about an Ed Sheeran concert if I feel like it!
Keep calm and carry on playing piano!
